Where do I begin, Post Partum shedding is when your hair goes through a phase after Pregnancy, When your hormones are regulating themselves and your hair that was not shedding during pregnancy finally decides to go through the shedding phase
......Worst thing I think I did after pregnancy was stopping my prenatals (I did go back on them)...let me be honest....I was fed up of Pills, Fed up of Iv's fed up of drips, fed up of the carnage on my vagina....(I had a midwife who was the BEST).......Fed up of Nurses and Doctors roughing me up I was fed up.....Fed up of my stay in the Hospital, fed up of Injecting myself...
FED UP.
At this time I do want to thank my husband for putting up with me he is a gem.
So into my third or fourth month post baby......I went into the bathroom to check my hair as I usually do and I saw my hair literally hanging off....as I took down the twists big chunks of my edges were just falling out.....
This is a time nothing can prepare you for
....you will read about it but nothing can prepare you for it. For weeks you will be just removing hair....you will begin to feel like its never ending......You will begin shedding all over the house, you will clog drains and sinks, its an overwhelming experience. At this time get a friend or someone to help you with your hair....dont take post partum shedding on by yourself especially if its your first time.
This process can go on between 3 to 7 months depending, my last phase was my baby around 7 months......it has pretty much stopped now as you will see in pics.
This will be an overwhelming time but do not neglect your hair...do not neglect your body, eat healthy, talk to your doctor, take your vitamins and minerals and supplements, take whatever you can to boost...remember you are feeding yourself and your baby (especially if you are a breastfeeding mom).
Get Conditioners to help with slip...because you will need to get those hairs out without cause a big mass of knots and tangles on your head. (keep your hair sectioned during this time, its much easier to handle).
Dont let anyone make you feel bad about the hair you are losing its a normal cycle and it will grow back.....
Most times to be honest I didnt have the time to do anything except wash and condition....and around this time soon after baby your hair will be neglected...its normal dont feel bad about it, hair will be the least of your issues.
Get rest during your maternity leave get as much rest as you can sleep with baby, the house and everything will be neglected, cleaning will be neglected....but focus on you.
Losing hair is stressful its going to be stressful there is nothing at the time that will comfort you except the fact that its going to grow back with time....
Not everyone will go through post-partum shedding, not everyone will experience it...
Im really on the fence as to whether I accepted it, but taking it on was an experience.
What am I on now Vitamin D, Vitamins and MSM (for my old bones lol). I wont put brands because everything doesnt work for everyone and you guys will need to check your medical practitioner.
So this is my rant...its over now until next time...
