Herbal Tea Retexturizing Spray
Today I am going to share a herbal DIY spray with you, this spray detangles and conditions hair and is a great refresher spray or leave in conditioner before you seal your hair with oils and butters.
To begin you are going to need the following ingredients:
8oz of water (distilled), the purer your water the long the shelf life of your product, I only want the mixture to last about one week and a half so I dont make much (use about 9 ounces so that when the water comes to a boil it reduces to 8)
1/2 teaspoon of basil
1/2 teaspoon of nettle
1/2 teaspoon of catnip
1/2 teaspoon of rosemary
1/4 teaspoon horsetail
1 loose teaspoon of calendula
Step 1
Bring water to a rolling boil
Step 2
Add your herbs and leave you steep as if you were making a herbal tea
(about 2 to 3 hours)
Step 3
After steeping, strain your final product (through a finer strainer to catch the sediments, it will be a dark coloured liquid which you can now put in your spray bottle and use
Step 4 (optional)
DIY products such as these do not have a long shelf life, I just add a pinch of potassium sorbate for a longer shelf life
From the first time you use this mix you will experience softer hair which will be super easy to detangle, soft and light, if you have coloured hair be careful as colour deposits can build on your hair and offset your hair colour. Hope you try the recipe you will not regret it, I can assure you it is that good. The calendula (marigold herb has great "slip" properties or mucilage which is great for detangling hair, catnip keeps your split ends at bay, rosemary and horsetail soften and strengthen and nettle has antifungal properties, so enjoy your herb tea leave in spray
Most of these herbs above you can aquire at the grocery store the calendula and catnip you can purchase from your local online store or a herbal store in your area.
