Ingredients:

Cocos nucifera oil, Herbal extract, Lecithin, Perfume, Aqua, Rosemarinus officinalis oil, Tocopherol acetate, Citrus medica limonum oil, tbhq (preservative)

Main Ingredients

Henna: With herbs coats your hair, protects it from oxidation, maintaining it's natural colour

Amla: Strengthens your hair from root to tip, helps maintain their health and natural thickness.

Lemon: With astringent acting, controls sebum flow, helping to prevent dandruff (PS I don't use this on my scalp i use it on my hair shaft and ends mainly)

Review

Pros:

Hey everyone, let me just start by saying I totally love this oil and there is nothing better right now for me than this oil.

It keeps my ends FABULOUS, and smooth, and it moisturises my hair, I mainly use this product on my ends (I apply 5 drops of product to my whole head of hair any remaining on my hands, i just pat it unto the rest of my hair).

This oil has been with me since October, 2011 and I have loved it ever since, I loved it so much I bought 3 bottles, lol, i paid about $45.00tt for one, too me its that good, and i am half way through my second bottle, i just cant waste it, its like GOLD, lol, well for me anyway.

I use this oil because i love coconut oil period, as for the main ingredients, I can vouch for the henna because my hair although is exposed to the sun everyday, yet it still maintains it's black colour.

It softens my ends on contact, it softens my mother's hair also she has colour treated hair. Its also non greasy, it rubs into your hands, just like a water based product would eventually do.

Its also a great oil for taking down twist and helping it to maintain its shape during the day, and I usually use it on my twists, when i am doing a long term twist out (5 days).

Cons:

I cannot use this on freshly washed hair that has no product in it, for some reason if I use it alone, it leaves my ends  a little stiff, not HARD but stiff, so its usually the last thing I put on my hair after my moisturising routine.

Smell:

It has a light coconut perfume scent, its an ok scent and it isn't overpowering too the nose and eventually fades away.

Conclusion:

Overall its a great product especially for the ends of your hair, it has a nice smell, and a bonus its water based for people who like the whole water based thing.

Shea Moisture Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie Review

De-ionized water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter)*, Macadamia Ternifolia seed oil, Mangifera Indica (Mango) seed butter*, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) oil, Vegetable Glyerine, Panthenol Vitamin B-5, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) oil*, Aloe Barbadensis leaf extract, silk protein, Melia Azadirachta (Neem) seed oil, Daucus Carota Sativa (carrot) seed oil, Caprylyl glycol, Sorbitol Esters, essential oil blend, Lonicera Caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower and Lonicera Japonica (Japanese honeysuckle) flower extract and Tocopherol (Vitamin E).

The Cons of this Product:

It does not have Directions on how to use the product. Ok how am I supposed to use a product if it doesnt have directions am i supposed to grope around in the dark.

It doesnt say use on wet hair, it doesnt say use on dry hair, it doesnt say small amount or large amount.

It does not say anywhere on the Ingredient Listing that it contains Hibiscus in any form, its not even on the side with the coconut, the silk protein or the neem oil, very interesting to me i find.


Pros:

I do like the fact that this product is Fair Traded and Sustainable, I have to give the company kudos for that.

Usage:

I tried this on my dry hair thinking ok its going to add moisture oh boy was i wrong, this thing made my hair so hard i actually heard my hair when i touched it, first FAIL. The second time i used it i had to layer on so many products under it, because it hold like Brown Gel from back in the days hard, hard and More HARD, I had to layer products under it and suprisingly it came out well and my hair was moisturized and the style held up for some days.

I dont really see the point using a product if you have to add so many thing just to make it usable, that doesnt really make any kind of sense at all.

Consistency:

It reminds me of mashed potatoes that havent been mashed well, meaning chunks of potatoes were still left in it to give it some texture, and its really thick it reminds me of Shea Butter before oils and other stuff has been added to it.

Smell:

lolololol it reminds me of weeds lol, like we say in my country old bush lol.


Conclusion:

I give this a B in my ratings, a B because i can still use it in the place of Gel and get the same hold.
Will i buy this product again probably not, I really dont see the point of it, when i can get the same results from my own shea butter mix.
